What is Catch-Up Premium Funding?

Catch-Up Funding was launched by the government in June 2020 to support children and young people, especially those who are most vulnerable and from disadvantaged backgrounds.

It aims to ensure anyone who may have missed learning due to the Covid19 pandemic are able to catch-up with their curriculum plans and get their learning back on track.

This funding includes a one-off-catch-up premium for the 2020-21 academic year to ensure all 16-19 year olds have the support the need to make up for missed learning, as well as a National Tutoring Programme to provide additional, targeted support for children and young people who need it.

How it works

The Catch-Up Funding is available to Schools and Academies on a per pupil basis and is paid three parts throughout the year.

It is available for the 2020-21 academic year, and it will not be included in schools' baselines when calculating future years' funding allocations
