Course Overview

The Skills Network's Level 4 Professional Accounting / Taxation Technician Apprenticeship covers all relevant technical knowledge, as well as all appropriate regulation and compliance content. Apprentices will practice planning and prioritisation while honing their team working and leadership skills. Alongside this, Apprentices will learn how they can add value to a business whilst maintaining integrity, becoming a professional accounting taxation technician and gaining a diploma in accounting.

The Skills Network offers individualised learning to each Apprentice, and heavily involves the employer with all aspects of the course to ensure progress is meaningful. In addition, a curriculum scoping exercise provides an opportunity to review prior learning and completed qualifications, with the aim of personalising Apprenticeships to support and enhance the business, fulfil its needs, and therefore support the Apprentices’ progress and progression.

We have the ability to individualise every Apprentices scheme of work to produce a bespoke delivery plan tailored around the individual's needs by incorporating content from our e-learning catalogue. This gives a more enhanced Apprenticeship and experience for the Apprentice and the business and allows the Apprentice to become a fully qualified professional accounting technician level 4.


Individual employers may set any entry requirements which may include:

  • It is desirable that candidates would have achieved a level 2 in English and Maths (equivalent to GCSE Grade C or above) prior to commencing their Apprenticeship training. For those Apprentices who are yet to achieve a level 2 in Maths and English and will have the opportunity to complete these qualifications during their Apprenticeship. However, a level 2 must be achieved in these areas before they qualify for entry to their end-point assessment.
