Exploring Your Opportunities This National Career Week

National Careers Week (NCW) is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK, with this year's event running from 3-8 March 2025.

To celebrate this week, we want to remind you about the free education resources we provide. The Skills Network offers a multitude of free fully funded courses and programmes for learners to progress, including our popular Skills Bootcamps.

Free Education Resources

Offering over 300 courses across a range of sectors, many of which are available to study for free* through government funding, The Skills Network is here to help you meet your professional development goals via our market-leading e-learning platform, EQUAL. Furthermore, our learning is delivered online and works flexibly to allow you to study at times that fit around you.

All our courses deliver a programme of high-quality learning designed to equip you in a range of areas such as Health and Social Care, Digital, Childcare and Education, Health and Safety, and Business, Leadership and Management.

In addition to our short courses and free level 2 qualifications, we work closely with local authorities to offer Skills Bootcamps to individuals looking to progress in their career. These courses are also fully-funded and lead to a guaranteed job interview for those looking for a new role!

Skills Bootcamps

Whether you’re looking to progress in a current position with the support of your employer, change careers, or secure employment, then Skills Bootcamps are the ideal choice for you.

Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible online courses of up to 14 weeks for learners living in England, giving people the chance to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track career progression. These have been developed as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, help learners gain skills for life and take the first step into a new career.

Careers and Progression Support

For those unemployed or looking for a career change, a key benefit of completing a Skills Bootcamp is that these learners are guaranteed to secure an offer of a job interview with a potential employer upon completion of their chosen programme.

We are committed to ensuring that all our Skills Bootcamp learners are well-prepared when heading into their guaranteed interview with an employer. We offer a dedicated Careers and Progression Support Team that is available to help throughout the duration of the programme. Our friendly team of Progression Coordinators can help with one-to-one support, CV writing and LinkedIn advice, job searches, employability workshops that are tailored to the current job market and even facilitate mock interviews.
