In this section, your employees will learn the reason for conducting COSHH risk assessments, what COSHH means and how it can potentially harm employees.

Section 2: Types of hazardous substances

This section will show your employees how to identify and classify different forms of hazardous substances and how these substances can enter the body and cause harm.

Section 3: Controlling risks from hazardous substances

In this section, your employees will learn about different factors that need to be considered when assessing risks from exposure to hazardous substances. This covers the hierarchy of controls in relation to hazardous substances.

Section 4: How a COSHH risk assessment is carried out

In this section your employees will cover the stages of a COSHH risk assessment and know when to review a COSHH risk assessment.


Manual Handling Safety at Work CPD

Section 1: The reasons for safe manual handling

In this section, your employees will learn about ill health associated with incorrect manual handling, the employers’ and employees’ duties and the possible consequences of non-compliance with health and safety requirements.

Section 2: How manual handling risk assessments contribute to health and safety

This section will show your employees the hazards and risks in manual handling work, the process of manual handling risk assessments and the principles of the risk control hierarchy for manual handling.

Section 3: Principles, equipment and testing requirements for manual handling safety

In this section your employees will understand the principles of safe movement for manual handling, identify the types of equipment for manual handling tasks and learn the requirements for testing, servicing and examination of manual handling and lifting equipment.

Section 4: Applying safe manual handling principles

This section will demonstrate efficient and safe manual handling principles, including moving a load manually, good handling techniques and using manual handling aids and equipment.


Fire Safety Principles CPD

Section 1: Fire hazards and risks

In this section, your employees will identify different causes of fire in the workplace, understand hazards during and after a fire and learn about the characteristics of fire and smoke spread.

Section 2: Controlling fire risks

This section will cover how to identify and control fire hazards, define ‘means of escape’ and typical components for means of escape from fire hazards. Your employees will also learn about fire detection and alarms, the principles of extinguishing and using equipment safely.

Section 3: Fire safety management

In this section, your employees will learn about employers’ and employees’ duties in relation to fire safety, how to carry out simple fire safety inspections and the stages of a fire risk assessment.

Section 4: The role of the Fire Warden

In this section, your employees will understand the role and function of the fire warden and the contents of a fire safety briefing.


DSE Risk Assessment CPD

Section 1: The importance of DSE risk assessments

This section will help your employees understand the reasons for conducting DSE assessments, the problems that may occur when working with DSE and the legal requirements that come under health and safety legislation.

Section 2: Controlling the risks from DSE workstations

In this section, your employees will understand the principles of a good DSE workstation, will be able to identify causes of ill health from DSE use and make corrections to workstation designs to control risks.

Section 3: Carrying out a DSE risk assessment

This section helps your employees understand the stages of a DSE risk assessment, what should be covered in the risk assessment and when to review a DSE risk assessment.
