CPD Inequality and Race

Course Overview

The UK is becoming increasingly ethnically diverse, with over 20% of the population reporting to be from an ethnic minority group. Despite this increasingly rich diversity in the UK, inequalities can still be found in modern society. Inequality is not exclusively limited to ethnicity; inequality can also be identified from a gender perspective, affecting things like personal income and employment opportunities.

During this automarked course, which is part of our Graduate Employability programme, the learner will gain an understanding of inequality within modern society and be able to apply this understanding to contemporary debates and explain issues in relation to gender and/or race. Learners will explore the notion of social exclusion and its relationship with poverty, as well as understanding the difference between economic inequality and inequality of outcomes. Learners will be able to articulate an awareness of how and why discussions of race and discrimination have become prominent in modern society.

This short course is particularly well suited to graduates or anybody looking to improve their employability prospects.
