Health and Social Care

Since our inception, The Skills Network has not only developed close relationships with organisations and professionals in the healthcare sector and adult social care industry but has become a health and care training provider of choice for many.

Our current course range comprises social care courses in care planning, adult social care, end of life care, dementia care, falls prevention awareness, safe handling of medication and management of diabetes.

We also offer wide-ranging mental health qualifications in mental health awareness, counselling skills and children and young people’s mental health, alongside courses in substance misuse, alcohol awareness and sexual health awareness.

Transforming Healthcare workforces

We work with over 1200 adult care organisations, and we are proudly partnered with leading providers such as Sunrise Senior Living, Home Care Direct, Gracewell Healthcare and All Seasons Care.

Our reputation for quality learning provision in the healthcare sector extends to our long-standing partnership with the National Health Service (NHS). As of June 2018, The Skills Network has upskilled over 1,400 NHS employees across 45 NHS Trusts with holistic learning courses that meet the training requirements of the modern NHS employee.

“I always had information and support from my advisor and I always knew how to contact them. The Skills Network’s courses were really delivered in a nice and easy way, and I am now thinking about doing further courses with them.”

“Definitely it’s given me another layer of confidence of how you apply your job. The mantra of if you know better you do better is absolutely true. It’s given me real clarity of thought with regards to people with mental health issues. I’m more thoughtful with my language and terminology now, I can be more specific. You don’t realise at the time but it does work, learning really does. Don’t underestimate how this improves your thinking process, all education is useful, nothing is wasted. It can catch you by surprise, even when you know something.”
