Online learning solutions provider, The Skills Network has launched the ‘BrewDog Academy’ to host online courses for employees at Scottish-based brewery and pub chain BrewDog – to help them access and gain national qualifications.

The fully-funded courses – which will reach 2000 of the chain’s employees – are also available for those on furlough who may wish to use their extra time to upskill.

As part of the partnership, BrewDog employees will have free access to nearly 30 nationally recognised Level 1 and 2 courses across a range of sectors and industries, with courses ranging from mental health awareness to team leader supervision.

As part of this scheme, the brewing company has also launched an apprenticeship scheme training 30 of its current employees in leadership skills.

Rachel George, head of apprenticeships at The Skills Network, said:

“It’s really exciting to work with a business like BrewDog and to be able to deliver a tailor-made programme that is completely personalised to the company’s goals and employees’ skill sets.”

Karen Bates, people director at BrewDog added:

“We are so proud of all staff at BrewDog for their hard work throughout the pandemic. As a way to say thank you, we wanted to launch the BrewDog Academy – our dedicated online learning platform providing all employees with online courses and national qualifications.

“With The Skills Network, our employees are not only benefitting from gaining national qualifications but also have access to the complete BrewDog Academy platform. They helped us identify our training needs and develop a framework that suits the business as a whole.”
