Don't just take our word for it
The Skills Network’s reputation of delivering high quality learning extends to our work within the public sector. We work with local government organisations, including district and county councils, to deliver innovative learning solutions that complement existing internal training and significantly reduce training costs.
We are partnered with county councils such as Durham County Council, Kent County Council and Lancashire County Council, and we also work with council service support organisations such as OneSource, who oversee the operational services at Havering, Newham and Bexley Councils.
The Skills Network has worked with over 40 public sector organisations, either by providing them with our published learning resources, or by delivering government funded level 2 qualifications. We have delivered courses in areas such as mental health awareness, understanding autism, equality and diversity, and information, advice or guidance.
Since 2016, The Skills Network has worked with Lancashire County Council (LCC) to develop the skills and knowledge of social care staff across 15 separate care homes.
We have upskilled staff through a government funded and nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. Staff are now more competent in supporting service users with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, having benefited from engaging online learning content and support from Subject Specialist Tutors.
We have now helped over 180 LCC employees achieve qualifications, with an outstanding 99% achievement rate, and we continue to consult with individual LCC care homes on their extended training requirements.

“150 employees have already achieved qualifications in a range of subjects. The Skills Network’s learning experience is a mix of e-learning and tutor feedback which gives learners the flexibility to go through the modules at their own pace, and at a time that suits them, with the benefit of having feedback from a tutor – the best of both worlds! The Skills Network’s course materials are engaging, and their Tutors are supportive and motivating.”
We deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of courses to employees within the public sector, with excellent progression opportunities in specific vocational areas.

“I completed the Principles of Team Leading course and initially felt apprehensive about studying again, as it has been several years since I pursued any type of studying, especially as it was distance learning. However, from the Induction Day to the submission of my last assessment I felt completely supported. My Tutor was comprehensive and quick in their feedback, so I felt like I was always able to progress quickly any time I had issues. This has now given me the appetite to study again and I am now looking to pursue further studies. This is a great opportunity!”
