After graduating with a psychology degree, Peter trained as an outreach careers officer before he was approached to work on a project with unemployed young people. He subsequently achieved teaching, training and management qualifications within a further education career in which he achieved rapid promotions before becoming Deputy Principal at Leeds City College and Principal of Kirklees College. Since 2017, he has worked as an Education and Training Consultant undertaking Interim Principal and consultancy functions across the education and training sector before taking up his role as chairman of The Skills Network.
Claire joined TSN in 2013 and worked initially on bringing the company in line with its fast growth across financial systems and processes. Former Finance Director with a strong background in financial management across a range of sectors Claire has been instrumental in the growth of the company over the last few years driving efficiencies, process and future strategy. As part of the planned transition Claire will lead the operational board in delivering the strategy and ensuring the company achieves its growth targets and hand over all financial reporting responsibilities.
Daniel began his career 20 years ago working for five years in a student support role. He then moved into the financial sector, where he worked for 13 years as a Branch Manager and then Financial Advisor. Joining The Skills Network in 2012, his knowledge of sales and the financial sector were put to use as he successfully grew our employer-led and consumer sales divisions. Daniel was quickly promoted to Operations Director, where he took over responsibility for Delivery and Quality functions, culminating in a Grade 2 OFSTED inspection. In August 2018 Daniel will take up post as Apprenticeships Director. This role will see his skills and experience put to full use, as he launches a large scale plan to deliver market-leading apprenticeships in new and innovative ways.
Education Sales Director
James is responsible for overseeing commercial and business development activity at The Skills Network, with over 13 years’ experience in marketing and business development. James has worked within sales, marketing and media during his time at Newcastle College and through working at one of the world’s largest architectural firms, WS Atkins, and the UK’s largest sub-contracted construction firm, NG Bailey, James has vast experience in high-profile marketing and business development projects. James has helped businesses across the globe to identify both efficiencies and innovative learning and development strategies by using The Skills Network’s products and services.
Curriculum and Partnerships Director
Rachel joined The Skills Network in March 2012 after a long and successful career in the Financial Services industry. Rachel currently manages the Contract Management Unit of the business which looks after all sub-contracting partners. Rachel’s contract management ensures the service we provide is of the highest standard. Education, learning and helping people develop and improve their skills and qualifications is a passion of Rachel’s and her current role ensures she can reach a large and receptive target audience who share the same goals.
Luke joined the team in May 2018. For the two and a half years prior, Luke worked as an independent consultant providing specialist advice and support to a variety of colleges and training providers. Before this Luke worked for a number of highly regarded FE colleges and universities, where he developed an impressive track record in senior management roles. His expertise include data analysis, quality monitoring, problem solving and process redesign, combined with strong people skills and the ability to understand and respond to customer requirements. It is this blend of skills and experience that shape his leadership of TSN’s operations.
